"Wait, wait," YoungSaeng snorted. "Is this about the supposed coup she tried to pull? She didn't actually do anything. She's just one little pixie."

"DongWoo, stop," JongWoon stepped forward to stop the alien from advancing any further. The ambassador's eyes were narrowed slightly. "GyuRi is our friend, a close friend of all of us no matter what happened on her planet. Please sit down and explain calmly." His voice left no room for argument from his crew.

DongWoo looked like he wanted to argue, but he nodded once and slowly sat back down at the table. YoungSaeng glanced at JongWoon with a small smile, proud of his boyfriend for taking such a firm hand with the crew.

"Alright, let's start from the beginning DongWoo," YoungSaeng said, walking towards the table. "You and GyuRi are from the same world?"

"Yes," DongWoo nodded. "Just as humans come in different variations, so do we."

"Very interesting variations," YoungSaeng said, looking between them.

"Come on you, story time." JungMin carried GyuRi into the room, though brought her to the opposite side of the table from DongWoo. He hadn't liked how the engineer had started for GyuRi, grip protective.

"What happened back on your world exactly?" JongWoon asked, keeping next to YoungSaeng. "We'll start with what you have to say, then ask GyuRi."

"I was only a kid when it happened, but she... tried to overthrow our government," DongWoo said. "Threw our whole system into chaos."

"Oh I did not," GyuRi rolled her eyes.

"Shut up GyuRi, let him talk," YoungSaeng said, motioning for DongWoo to continue.

"She had managed to get herself in with one of the ministers of war, and convinced him that the only way our people would become powerful in the galaxy, is if she was in control," DongWoo said.

JungMin raised an eyebrow, looking down at GyuRi in his lap. "We always said you were very convincing."

"And then after that?" JongWoon asked. "I'm guessing it didn't work."

"No, the minister was thrown out of office," DongWoo said. "For treason. He went to jail, she skipped out of town."

"So how did that throw your entire system into chaos then?" YoungSaeng asked.

"Because the entire governmental system on our world requires every peg being in place," GyuRi said with a huff. "One peg is removed, everyone squawks around like chickens without heads because they don't know what to do."

"Well, that's not very efficient," JungMin snorted, looking at DongWoo. "Listen, we knew she was wanted for treason of something or other years ago, but so are half the people out here. Take all the criminals away and there's no one left. If your system can be so easily messed up by one pixie talking, then there's bigger problems than her."

"That's not the point, she is a criminal, a wanted criminal," DongWoo said, scowling at GyuRi who just stuck her tongue out at him.

"I did not skip out of town, I didn't do anything wrong," the pixie said with a sniff. "If he wanted to take down the government because of a little bit of pillow talk, that was his problem."

"And we're not sending her off to prison," JungMin's eyes narrowed. "Want to argue with that?"

"JungMin, please don't start a fight," JongWoon sighed softly, looking at HyungJoon pleadingly to reign in the redhead's protectiveness over GyuRi. "But no, we're not doing that. She's been our friend for years, and she did her fair share of help during the fight with Sylar."

"Well it's not like I would be able to do anything," DongWoo said, looking away. "I left as well."

"So?" YoungSaeng frowned at that, looking between GyuRi and the engineer.

"You can't go back to the homeworld once you've left," GyuRi said with a small smile. "You're considered a traitor either way."

"That's not fair," JongWoon's eyes saddened. He watched GongChan place his hand lightly on DongWoo's arm.

"Some places are just like that I guess," JungMin murmured, looking down at GyuRi and running his fingers through her hair. "We like you better out here with us."

"I like being out here too, far more fun," GyuRi grinned up at him.

"She sure does make life interesting," HyungJoon said, shaking his head at JungMin. Don't regret not taking her up on her marriage offer?

Oh hell no, JungMin replied adamantly.

"Well...why don't we try this again," Nicole sighed, stepping back into the room. "GyuRi, these two are DongWoo and GongChan."

"We were just introducing her to everyone while we're waiting for her husband to come back," JongWoon said. GongChan waved after hooking his other arm around DongWoo's.

DongWoo didn't reply, just looking down at the table, his wings slumped. YoungSaeng could tell how conflicted the birdman looked.

GyuRi on the other hand, was back to her usual charming self, flying up to GongChan and looking him up and down. "I don't think I've seen one of you before, but the horns are cute."

GongChan pinked, ears flicking back and forth. "Thank you, noona. I'm a Geit, we don't get off our planet much either." He remained attached to DongWoo's side, looking up at the winged man every now and then.

"So cute," GyuRi reached her tiny hands forward and pinched GongChan's cheeks. "Okay, I'm bored. Nicole? Show me your room," the pixie said, flying over the table and back towards the door.

"Don't wander, I'm sure Daniel will be back soon," YoungSaeng said.

"I'll bring her right back," Nicole smiled, leaving with GyuRi.

When they were gone, GongChan scooted closer to DongWoo, tugging on his arms to make the man face him. "Hyung? Hyung, are you okay?"

DongWoo kept his head down, shrugging a little. "Yeah, I'm okay," he muttered. "You about done with that snack? I want to go."

"Yeah," GongChan popped the rest of the snack bar into his mouth and stood up, bowing repeatedly to the others as he pulled DongWoo up out of the seat.

"Well...that was unexpected," JungMin murmured once they were both gone. "How many more surprises are we going to get today?"

"I can't take any more surprises," HyungJoon said, slumping over and resting his head on the table. "I'm surprised out for the rest of the year. No more."

"I'm not even sure what to make of what just happened," YoungSaeng said. "But at least GyuRi won't be joining us this time around."

"Yeah, I don't see having those two around each other being a good thing," JungMin patted HyungJoon's back.

"I hope DongWoo's okay," JongWoon fretted nervously, looking back and forth from the table and the door.

"I'm sure he will be," YoungSaeng said, putting an arm around JongWoon's shoulder. "You went all serious Captain on him. That was interesting to see."

"There's a first time for everything," JungMin snorted.

JongWoon turned bright red, looking back at YoungSaeng. "Well...he...looked really really mad," he mumbled, leaning against YoungSaeng.

"Hey," Daniel stepped into the room, looking around. "So here's where you all went to. Where's GyuRi?"

"She made a friend," YoungSaeng said, looking up at Daniel with a smile. "They'll be back. How'd it go with HyunJoong?"

"As well as can be expected, I guess," Daniel went to sit down. "He's responding at least. It'll be a long time before he gets over this, if ever, so I guess it's a good thing he doesn't have to worry about being ship Captain for some time."

"He'll always be Captain though," HyungJoon said, looking down at the table. "No offense or anything JongWoon."

"None taken, he's the best Captain there is," JongWoon agreed.

"Well, he isn't going to be Captain for a while," Daniel sighed softly. "When he recovers more, he's probably going to try loading up on work as a distraction, but keep him from taking on too much at once. It's a bad habit that just messes with him more in the end."

"We'll look after him," JungMin nodded, looking at HyungJoon. "It's the least we can do after everything he's done for us."

"Yes, we'll make sure he doesn't try to do too much, as I'm sure KyuJong will as well," YoungSaeng said. "Were you and GyuRi going to stay for a meal? I can call Zhou Mi down to get started."

"Sure, we don't have to be anywhere in particular," Daniel chuckled. "She'll probably enjoy being around for longer too. We've missed everyone."

"She just enjoys being a pain in the ass," YoungSaeng said, pulling out his com device. "And if she can be a pain in all of our asses, then she's happy. Mi?" he spoke into the the device, waiting for a reply. When there was no reply he frowned, trying again. "Zhou Mi?"

"Try their room, I think I saw them heading that way," HyungJoon said.

Pressing a different button on the device, YoungSaeng tried again. "Zhou Mi? Are you there."

There was another long pause before an answer. "Y-yes? What is it?" the gecko sounded like he was panting a little.

"We were wondering if you could come and start on dinner," YoungSaeng said, raising an eyebrow.

"Umm... sure... ten minutes." The line went dead, Zhou Mi turning off the com.

"Well, we know what they were up to," JungMin snorted. "They might be a bit longer than ten minutes, sorry Daniel."

"We're not in a hurry," Daniel chuckled, leaning back in his seat. "So other than the big events last week, how have you all been?"

"Fairly well," YoungSaeng shrugged. "Not much to tell really. JongWoon and I had just finished a long trade negotiation, hopefully won't be doing any of those again for a while."

"Don't jinx us," JongWoon protested, pulling YoungSaeng over to sit down. "You know they're going to find us more work eventually."

"That's what happens when you're an ambassador," Daniel chuckled. "Where are you heading now?"

"Well...since we don't have much to do, we are probably going to take up the Proteus' shipment schedules," JongWoon looked at YoungSaeng. "It'll keep us busy.

"Try to at least," YoungSaeng said. "Not that we really need the money, but it'll be fun."

"We'll be able to keep up with GongChan's appetite at least," JongWoon chuckled, resting his cheek on YoungSaeng's shoulder. "And if we're busy, less chances we're going to be roped into another trade negotiation."

"Now who's jinxing us," YoungSaeng snorted.

Zhou Mi and RyeoWook arrived not much later, the former apologizing profusely before disappearing into the kitchen to begin cooking.

"Where's your third half?" YoungSaeng asked RyeoWook when he sat down.

RyeoWook's eyes shadowed slightly, shaking his head. "No idea, he's probably around somewhere," he answered vaguely, glancing back over his shoulder at Zhou Mi in the kitchen.

Blinking repeatedly, JongWoon sat up straighter. "Is something wrong, Wookie?" he asked.

"No, nothing's wrong," RyeoWook sighed softly, standing up again. "I'm going to help Mi prepare, please excuse me."

"For all the time we've known them, we know they're a secretive lot, but is it just me, or are they being more secretive than usual?" YoungSaeng said quietly to the others. "I hardly see either of those two with KyuHyun anymore, or KyuHyun at all."

"No, he's been showing up less and less," JungMin frowned. "Usually only if we call him directly. They were fine back on the Proteus though, always attached to each other. It was only when we got here something must have happened..."

No point in asking those two," HyungJoon said, glancing towards the kitchen. "Something seems to be really bothering them though." He looked to JongWoon with narrowed eyes. "You should talk to Wook."

"Yeah..." JongWoon nodded slowly, eyes worried. "I'd need to get him away from Zhou Mi first though." He looked towards the kitchen, seeing the two working close together. Every now and then RyeoWook touched Zhou Mi's shoulder lightly, as if comforting him. "I don't think that's happening right now."

"After dinner, make something Captainy up," HyungJoon said, leaning over the table. "You can do that right? Make something up that sounds important? Call him to your office?"

"Never let him get command of a ship," YoungSaeng said dryly to JungMin.

JungMin snorted, pulling HyungJoon into a headlock. "There'd be a mutiny the first week."

"Of course," JongWoon pursed his lips in worry, looking down at the table.

"Why is my brother being strangled?" KiBum asked, stepping into the mess hall.

"Is that something you really need to ask?" YoungSaeng snorted.

"Yah, I don't do anything to deserve being strangled!" HyungJoon protested, squirming and prying at JungMin's arms to get him off. "Let go, you big bully."

"Nope, more fun this way," JungMin grinned, securing his grip and not letting HyungJoon go.

KiBum sat down on HyungJoon's other side, not helping his brother at all. "Oh...hi," he blinked at Daniel.

"Daniel this is KiBum, HyungJoon's little brother," JongWoon introduced. "KiBum, Daniel is a friend of ours. If you saw a pixie around here with Nicole, she's GyuRi, his wife."

"I was wondering why there was traces of gold in the hallways, GongChan's going to have a blast cleaning that up."

"At least she isn't staying long," HyungJoon said, finally getting JungMin off of him.

"It is too bad that you and GyuRi can't stay on with us," YoungSaeng said to Daniel. "We asked her already but... how are things going? Is she happy?"

Daniel sighed softly, resting his head in one hand. "Sometimes. I know she misses being out here. My family and friends treat her great, but you know there's always going to be the people who can't accept other races, especially since only two years have passed."

"Shouldn't you just move out here?" JungMin suggested bluntly, worried about GyuRi.

"We've talked about it," Daniel replied. "But I can't leave my family right now, there's just too much going on and they need me to be there. Maybe eventually we'll set up shop out here instead."

"I think it's a testament to her character that she'll put up with everything she does in Fed space to be with you," YoungSaeng said. "I don't think I've met anyone as strong willed as that little pixie."

"I know," Daniel's lips quirked. "Neither have I." It was plain to see their relationship had only been strengthened in their two years together.

"I don't think her and Nicole are coming back," JungMin snorted, glancing at the door.

"She's probably giving Nicole a makeover," YoungSaeng said, shaking his head. "I wonder if we should tell Kyu and the Captain about dinner, or just send food to them."

Daniel tapped his fingers lightly against the table. "We should ask if they want to join us or not. Staying in that room is helpful only for so long."

"If you're sure," JongWoon pursed his lips, fumbling for his communicator. He flicked it on and decided to try KyuJong first. "Hey, Kyu? Mi's making dinner, it'll probably be done soon."

"Um... I'll get back to you," KyuJong said into his com device, turning it off and looking to HyunJoong. "Well? What do you want to do?" he asked quietly.

HyunJoong looked back at KyuJong, the two curled up together on the bed. It was an improvement over the window seat, the two sharing soft kisses after Daniel's visit. Seeing the older man again had raised his spirits a little. Daniel hadn't been tempted to treat him like some delicate flower, talking about both the Proteus and YoungJoong freely until it hurt less to hear their names, remembering the good instead of the bad.

"Let's go," he nodded, leaning in to brush his lips against KyuJong's lightly.

KyuJong returned the kiss, his hand framing HyunJoong's jaw lightly before he pulled back. "Okay, only if you're sure," he said with a small smile. "I'm sure Daniel and GyuRi are still here, will be nice to see GyuRi for a little bit."

"It will be," HyunJoong nodded, returning the slight smile. "What a coincidence they were here too..." It had definitely been a surprise when KyuJong had opened the door to see Daniel standing there.

"You should know by now that our lives are a collection of coincidences and being in the wrong place at the wrong time," KyuJong said, swinging his legs off the bed and getting to his feet.

"True." HyunJoong stood as well, stepping around the bed towards the door. He found his shoes and slipped them on, lost in thought.

KyuJong waited for him at the door, watching HyunJoong worriedly though he tried not to let it show. He opened the door for them, slipping his hand into HyunJoong's as they started down the corridor. "I wonder what we're going to do now, where we're going to go," he said, looking at HyunJoong. "Strange... it's a decision we don't have to make."

Looking back at KyuJong, HyunJoong nodded, not sure what to make of that. "It's a little...disorientating." He didn't know what he was supposed to do; they were all technically guests on this ship. What was going to happen to them long-term? Would they stay here on this ship with the others? "What do you want to do, Kyu?"

"I.. I don't know," KyuJong shook his head. "I'm a little lost myself right now. All I've ever wanted to do was be a pilot, I don't know what else to be. What do you want to do Hyun?"

"I don't know either," HyunJoong looked down. Like KyuJong had always wanted to be a pilot, the only thing he had ever wanted to do was captain his own ship and travel as far as he could. "We'll figure it out, right?" He looked up at his husband again.

"Of course, we always do," KyuJong nodded, leaning to kiss HyunJoong's cheek lightly. "No matter how long it takes us."

HyunJoong smiled lightly at that. At least they didn't have to worry about being kicked off the ship while they figured out what to do with their lives. They had a temporary home of sorts here.

They stepped into the mess hall a minute later, Daniel grinning when he saw them. "Hey, glad you're joining us."

"Well, how could we refuse if you were still here?" KyuJong said, sitting down at the table next to HyunJoong. "Where is your wife? I hope she isn't off torturing one of the crew."

"She met Nicole," YoungSaeng said in explanation. "They may or may not be back soon."

"We might have to call them, I really don't think they'll be coming back soon," JongWoon chuckled.

"Nicole was telling me you needed to hire more girls," KiBum grinned. "And that she's never before been on a ship that would protest to having more girls on board." JungMin cracked up at that.

"We don't protest to having girls on board," YoungSaeng said, frowning a little.

"Except for GyuRi," HyungJoon put in.

"GyuRi is her own special case," YoungSaeng replied. "But we just take whoever needs a job, or whatever stray we happen to pick up."

"Besides, those that hire a girl to specifically have a girl on board, aren't hiring her for her talents," KyuJong said. "Well... maybe her natural... physical... talents," he mumbled, flushing in embarrassment.

"Why is he all embarrassed by what he's saying," Daniel chuckled.

"Because he's Kyu, I don't think he's ever looked at a girl that way his entire life," JungMin snorted, draping his arm around HyungJoon's shoulders.

"I'm fine with that." HyunJoong kissed KyuJong's red cheek.

"Girls are nice just... not for me," KyuJong said, finding HyunJoong's hand and holding it tightly. Luckily for KyuJong, Zhou Mi arrived with the first round of plates, setting them down.

"Looks good Mi," YoungSaeng smiled up at the Gecko, who gave a strained smile back and returned to the kitchen.

"Okay, I'm calling them," JongWoon shook his head, getting out his communicator again and calling Nicole.

By the time Nicole and GyuRi came back, all the plates had been brought to the table and RyeoWook was leading Zhou Mi to sit down. "Having fun?" Daniel chuckled, smiling at his wife.

"I'm having the best time," GyuRi said, opting to seat herself in Daniel's lap so she could reach the table. "Now I know what we were missing out here, another girl! And JungMin doesn't count."

YoungSaeng snorted around a forkful of food, nearly choking himself. His laughter died when he looked at the doorway, Kevin and SooHyun there in their human forms.

"May we... join?" Kevin said, looking around at everyone warily.

About to throw rice at YoungSaeng for laughing (throwing food at GyuRi was never worth the expression on her face), JungMin stopped when he noticed the two at the door. "...Sure," he said after a moment where everyone was quiet, motioning to the empty chairs at the end of the table. He was sure being around those two was going to be even worse now that they'd been ordered by the council to stay on the Pandora.

Scooting to his feet, RyeoWook disappeared into the kitchen to get two more plates as the two Shinbi went to sit down. Coming back, he placed them down in front of Kevin and SooHyun.

"Thank you," Kevin said, looking around nervously since everyone was staring at them.

"Did I miss something?" GyuRi looked around in confusion before leaning towards SooHyun who she was closes to. "Hi, who are you?"

SooHyun looked up from where he'd been staring at the table, taking in the strange pixie sitting on Daniel's lap. "...SooHyun," he mumbled after a moment, picking up the chopsticks to start eating as if having food in his mouth would save him from having to answer more questions.

"They're Shinbi ambassadors," JungMin said, Daniel blinking in surprise. "Xander and SungMin are Faction ambassadors with a Shinbi ship right now, and these two are here in their place."

"They're Shinbi? Like you?" GyuRi's eyes lit up at that and she turned on the charm to the two. "Well, I hope you're nicer than this stick in the mud."

Kevin eyed GyuRi with a slight frown. "I don't... understand."

"It's just an expression, ignore her," YoungSaeng said, giving GyuRi a look.

"I'm not a stick in the mud," JungMin huffed, eyeing Kevin for a moment before turning back to his food. Well, this just got awkward, he mumbled to HyungJoon, for once not knowing what to say. He couldn't help but feel self-conscious around the two Shinbi, knowing they were watching and disapproving of everything, and he knew YoungSaeng felt that way too.

"Hey, GongChan and DongWoo aren't here," KiBum blinked, seeming to wake up as he looked around the table. "I didn't think it was possible for him to miss a meal."

"I'm sure GongChan will be back later to lick the bowl," YoungSaeng said. "There was a bit of an incident earlier, so we might not see DongWoo for a while."

KyuJong frowned slightly, leaning over to HyunJoong. "I thought the Shinbi were leaving?" he murmured softly.

"I thought so too," HyunJoong replied quietly, glancing at the two then back at KyuJong. "Guess they weren't able to." He was sure if the two Shinbi had been able to leave, they would have.

JungMin shook his head to clear it, grinning at Daniel and GyuRi. "So how long are you two gonna be here for? We should play a game or something after, you know how long it's been?" And with Daniel around, they might even be able to get HyunJoong and KyuJong involved.

"Our shuttle back home doesn't leave for a few days, we were just relaxing and enjoying a small break," GyuRi said, settling in Daniel's lap. "It's been ages since we were all together, I would be up for a game."

"No kissing games though, right?" HyungJoon said, eyeing JungMin warily.

"Maybe? What if I'm kissing you?" JungMin grinned. KiBum made a dying noise in the back of his throat, slumping in his seat.

"Let's not for your brother's sake," Daniel chuckled.

"I'm sure there's something we can play," YoungSaeng said with a smile.

"What about you two, will you play?" GyuRi looked to Kevin and SooHyun with hopeful eyes. "It's a lot of fun, the games they play."

Kevin looked at SooHyun, frowning a little. "I... don't... know."

SooHyun looked skeptical as well, looking back at Kevin and shaking his had slightly. "No...thank you," he didn't look back at the others.

"If you're sure," KiBum frowned, watching them. "A bit of fun wouldn't hurt."

"If they don't want to do it, then they don't have to," YoungSaeng said shortly. "Wouldn't have expected them to anyway."

"Why are you always so hostile YoungSaeng?" GyuRi scowled at him. "I'm surprised you make any friends with that attitude."

"I don't need a lecture on attitude from someone half my size," YoungSaeng said, glaring at her. "Mind your own business."

"Guys, let's not start an argument," JongWoon said quietly, seeing Daniel's eyes narrow slightly. "They don't want to play, then they don't want to play." He placed his hand lightly against YoungSaeng's knee. "Speaking of which, there's no alcohol involved, right?"

"Well where would the fun in that be," JungMin laughed.

HyungJoon groaned in misery at that, looking at JungMin with a wrinkled nose. "I'm not drinking. You make me drink too much and then I have a hangover the next day."

"Maybe we can see if GongChan and DongWoo will play?" KyuJong said lightly. "What about you two?" he looked to RyeoWook and Zhou Mi. "And KyuHyun of course."

RyeoWook's expression fell slightly at KyuHyun's name, but he nodded, glancing at Mi. "We'll join I think, and ask KyuHyun if we see him."

"But it's more fun with alcohol!" JungMin whined, pouting at HyungJoon. "Especially when people making stupid mistakes, and you're the one making yourself drink too much by not stopping. I just don't remind you to stop."

"If not reminding me to stop means refilling my drink when I'm not looking then yeah," HyungJoon scowled, hitting JungMin in the shoulder. "You're an enabler."

"It just now hit me how much I've missed you all," YoungSaeng chuckled softly.

"Love you too Saengie!" JungMin called across the table happily, seeming to completely forget about Kevin and SooHyun. "And I can't help it if you're more fun when you're drunk," he draped his arms over HyungJoon.

"I've seen hyung drunk...once. He knocked himself out on a glass door," KiBum mused.

"... This is not story time, we're not sharing stories," HyungJoon said, pointing a finger at KiBum in warning.

"But that's the fun part about you having a boyfriend, I get to share embarrassing stories about you," KiBum smiled widely at his brother.

"And the second you get a girlfriend, embarrassing stories will be coming out as well," HyungJoon said. "Daniel, can you take him back with you?"

"We try to discourage kidnapping," Daniel grinned, then was cut off by JungMin's loud laughter (he'd just poked through HyungJoon's memories to find the running-into-the-glass-door incident).

HyungJoon scowled at JungMin, hitting him again and again in the shoulder. "Shut up, it's not that funny!"

Smiling and laughing a little, KyuJong leaned lightly against HyunJoong, enjoying the company of the others. Being around everyone else would help HyunJoong, it had to. His eyes did sadden though when he saw Kevin getting up, whispering something to SooHyun before heading for the door.

SooHyun got up after Kevin did, not looking at those around the table as he followed. JongWoon watched them go, frowning sadly. He'd hoped they'd be more willing to open up if they were around the crew more often (especially when they were being silly like this), but that looked to be a long time coming still.

Seeing everyone else was finished, JongWoon waved at RyeoWook before the other man could get up to clean up. "Hey, come help me pick out a game," he grinned at his friend, standing. "I don't trust anyone else to pick something good." Maybe he could talk with RyeoWook at the same time about what was going on with them.

"Okay," RyeoWook blinked, standing as well to follow.

You want me to come with? YoungSaeng frowned, watching as Zhou Mi began to gather up empty plates.

Yeah...I'm not sure how talkative he's going to be though, JongWoon sighed inwardly even as he smiled at his friend and went to the door, RyeoWook following him.

Okay, I'll give you two a minute alone first, see if he'll talk to you when it's just the two of you?

Mhm, hopefully he will, JongWoon glanced back at YoungSaeng before stepping out of view of the door.
